Unfathomable

Look into me and rejoice!

I am like nothing you have ever fathomed -

as sharp as a slosh of vodka, infused

with a wonky frown.

And there, from my core, gaze the bubbles of fizz;

eyeballs that squint through the haze,

as they hey-nonny-nonny out the depths of my tummy

flying fast into bullet-shot loon.

A New Year Queue

Christmas is over - that much is true, so why can't I shift, then, my arse off the loo? Year's not done - I must see the end - so where is the bog roll that should be my friend? With laughter, I rise - pants at my knees, but a blast of cold air, alas, makes me sneeze. How can I hobble - hunt down a roll - my knees stuck together by poo with no soul?  The New Year is here - that much is true, JUST CHUCK US SOME BOG ROLL, IF STUCK IN THE QUEUE! 'Sitting at a laptop creates an image that I carry back.' (Jay Cool) A neck with a thousand folds. A bump harboured by an anxious nose. A line, puckered into peaks and troughs, of 48 years near gone. A thought. It is not me. Just an image. An image of another me in another time. Not me now. Now, I write myself into being - smoothing out the lines and carrying them over and back.
